Road cycling

The Tauern bike region: a paradise for road cyclists

The Gerlos Pass, Felbertauern Road and Grossglockner High Alpine Road make perfect road cycling challenges. The latter provides for an epic adventure, with 26 turns and over 1,700 metres of elevation gain to be completed. Timing is provided, so you can even turn this into a competition. Your reward? Fantastic views of the Glockner mountain and glacier scenery. Discover the panoramic Thurn Pass, which takes you to beautiful Kitzbühel. If you still have some energy left, you can even continue up to the spectacular Kitzbüheler Horn.

Tip for ambitious riders

The Tauern Cycle Path recently received its challenging counterpart in the form of a racing version for road cyclists. While the original path takes you across gravel, the race route runs parallel along paved roads.
