Ski tours in the Kitzbühel Alps
If you think of alpine adventure when touring, you will find countless possibilities for your holiday in the Pinzgau. Certified mountain and ski guides show you the most beautiful spots and take you safely through the terrain. Get tour tips from us at the resort!
- Pinzgau Grass Mountains & Hohe Tauern
- Spring classics: Hoher Sonnblick, Hocharn or Großvenediger
- Tip for beginner tours: Kitzbüheler Alpen & Gerlosplatte
If you want to gain your first ski touring experience in open terrain, the Kitzbühel Alps are the place to go. The Gerlosplatte in the Zillertal Arena is also ideal for the first tours. The landscape experience is wonderful, although the slopes are fairly flat and therefore suitable for beginners. You can ski down comfortably on the groomed slopes.
Snowshoeing in the National Park
A winter hike in our region is pure relaxation and nature experience. Glaciers and mountain peaks accompany you as a constant backdrop as you circle lakes and roam through forests.
You will find all kinds of wonderful trails to conquer during your holiday in Pinzgau, from cosy promenades in the valley to panoramic paths not far from the various huts and alpine pastures. Guided tours with wonderful views are offered, for example, by the National Park Rangers - in the Hollersbach Valley, in the Sulzbach Valleys and in the Stubach Valley. The extensive programme caters for both beginners and experienced hikers. A highlight in the truest sense of the word is the summit of the Hohe Sonnblick (3,106 m), where Europe's highest weather station is installed.
Cross-country ski trails with panorama
In addition to sporty cross-country trails, the Oberpinzgau and its surroundings also offer leisurely tours that focus on experiencing nature and the views of the region's mountain peaks. The variously combinable trails of the surrounding villages make up a network of 107 kilometres of cross-country trails.
Tip: The "Pinzga Loipe" runs through the entire Salzach Valley from Krimml to Mittersill and Zell am See.
